Top 4 Middleton Prime (30 players)

Gimmick deck went 4-2 in Swiss. Ended in 9th place, but 8th place had to drop at the cut, so I moved in to 8th as bottom seed.

Game plan is to AR Padme’s Ship out, Rex’s Blaster on Padmé, action cheat to roll everything in and resolve, and then end the round with Mean Streets and Jump to Lightspeed.

Round 1 vs. Palpatine Watto - LOSS - I got Watto down fast and avoided having the Starship DM'ed, but despite putting 7 or 8 dice into the pool in one action, for probably three straight rounds, I didn't see (or get to keep) any focuses.

Round 2 vs. Hondo Q'ira - WIN - Was close. He got his Entourage suite out early, but I somehow was able to pull it off. I think the Jump to Lightspeeds saved me.

Round 3 vs. Palpatine Motti - WIN - I was on my heels most of the game. He was able to get my best tech and mitigation cards with Mastermind and Counterintelligence, but a late game Spark of Hope allowed me to deal 16 damage in one action to finish off Palp before Admiral came out.

Round 4 vs. Plowoks - LOSS - Planned explosion hit me twice for 6 damage total, or as I saw it, 30% of my health pool. Never tested against this, but I figured I didn't have much of a chance as soon as I sat down.

Round 5 vs. Iden Beckett - WIN - Was not a great game for me. Had a big misplay early, which moved two of my resources to him and let him get his first Megablaster out round 1 (and his second on first action round 2). I was lucky I didn't get DMed because I put Target Acquired on Iden early to remove her focus and action cheating restriction. Jump to Lightspeed saved me from the Megablasters each round, and a late game Spark of Hope was the MVP again.

Round 6 vs. Yoda Boushh - WIN - Saved money to pay off Boushh and removed Yoda specials as they came up. I ended the game with maybe 3 damage on both characters.

Top 8 vs Satine R2 C3PO Game 1 - LOSS - Kinda close. Lost the roll off, but was able to Across the Galaxy away his rolled out Bendu's Lair die. Game 2 - WIN - VERY close. I needed to roll a 3 Focus on Padme's ship using Spark of Hope, and I got it. 1 out of 6 chance. Game 3 - WIN (went to time). I think we only have about 10 minutes to go at the start. With no threat of Starship being removed, I resolved all focus as indirect to attempt to win on damage dealt. Luckily, I had a lot of mitigation and was able to remove the Falcon die and other damage dice and win the damage race.

Top 4 vs Palpatine Watto Game 1 - LOSS - He played into my hand by putting Protective Suit on Palpatine to avoid my Target Acquired, and then put indirect damage on Watto (who is my first target anyway), and then was able to put Target Acquired on him. Unfortunately I couldn't get enough damage on Watto fast enough, as he DMed my Starship first action round two. I ended the match because I knew I had no chance there on out. Game 2 - LOSS - He figured out how the deck worked by that point (plus he got to see my decklist before we started), so he claimed early with several dice in his pool so he could hopefully get DM, which he did. I didn't last much longer after that.
