If you've listened to the Jedi Trials at all, you know I LOVE red heroes. And the moment Kes Dameron was spoiled, I went into the lab with Shane from Golden Dice and Hexen from Artificery and developed this thing.
On Saturday I won a 21 player local standard tournament with this deck. Wins were against Lando/Hondo Entourage, Padme/Boushh, Snoke/Watto/FOST, and Shadowcaster reset L3/Engineer/Anakin.
The idea behind this deck is speed and action cheating. Without going into a full breakdown right now, Kes' action creates opportunities to resolve dice without any chance for your opponent to respond or mitigate. The fact that both Rex and Kes are Leader AND Trooper is key.
If you get Rex's Blaster Pistol early with a Conscript Squad or two, you'll be pouring 6-7 dice into the pool on the first action. If they can't control the focus dice, you're in a good seat to get a quick kill.
For a long time red hero has lacked great mitigation. Measure for Measure is fantastic free removal, especially on a Conscript Squad die. But the healing will always be fantastic. Mulligan for First Aid and Conscript Squad. A first turn First Aid is almost a game-winner. Don't be afraid to save Salt Flats for soft mitigation late in the turn. Riot Shield has insane value if your opponent resolves dice with "3" sides.
Seize the Day is the MVP of the deck. With Rex, don't be afraid to pay the 1 for the battlefield control if you lost it last round. I won two games in the tournament off a Seize the Day play. Even just going Seize the Day into Salt Flats (flip Kes to the 2 focus), do Kes action to resolve all trooper dice is an easy play.
As for changes I may make, I'm considering dropping E-11 for some combination of Strategic Planning, Snuff Out, and Aggressive Negotiations. Strategic Planning feels solid against fat vehicle decks, but is also useful to stop a Fist or Entourage activation.
Also looking for a clever deck name, better than #RedHeroRevival. Taking suggestions! :)

I would second the Strategic Planning swap for two of the weaker weapons; I tested this a bit after seeing it in the discord and it wasn't getting there vs snoke/watto/fost. I'd call it "Bloody Troopers" or "Fastest Guns in the West" |
Or just call it Seal Team 6 - bunch of hero warriors. |
Did you consider Military Camp - Kaller first? That's even MORE action cheating and a free reroll. |
They´re definetly a working combo. Personally I prefer Fighting Pit - Mimban for extra damage with Kes and Concerted Effort over the 2 [Name] Blasters which tends to be left behind in the pool. Once a second Trooper Support with die shows they´ll explode I reckon. |
I would call it Red Dead Redemption |
I went with 2x Hidden Blaster instead of the E-11 Blaster. The ambush and shield removal was worth it for me even without redeploy. The only other differences in my list is I've gone with 1x Crash Landing for one more free removal piece, and 1x copy of Strategic Planning for that extra turn against a fat support deck, in place of the 2x Superior Position. |

I've liked it. None of the blasters are troopers so it's usually easy to pair them up without losing tempo, especially with the A300. I also like that the damage is all ranged, so no chance of those pesky indirect sides when I'm trying to resolve quickly. It would be the one to cut though if I were to drop to 6 blasters and 2 conscript squad. I had not considered Superior Position but I think I will now. Do you think 6 blasters will be enough to go with the conscript squads? |
I'll try dropping the Hidden Blasters for a pair of Superior Position and see what that's like. |

For a brief name, my thought would be Rekes Haus (Pronounced: Wrecks House) as a tribute to both characters and the deck’s creator.
