A fun idea to play the new Megablaster Troopers and swarm the field with First Order Stormtrooper dice and control (to some extent) their sides.

Firmus Piett - Ambitious Admiral has the ability on activation to turn any of your non-unique character dice to sides showing a value of 1. Captain Phasma - Stormtrooper Commander has a power action that generates non-unique character dice with both a and a that have values of 1.

The first turn I envisioned when I thought of this combo was for Phasma to use her power action to create dice, Piett to activate and turn them to 1 sides, and then claiming those resources. This allows you to use your 4 resources to pay for Megablaster Troopers immediately (if you don't get it in a hard mulligan than hopefully you got a cool combination of other impactful cards or had a decent damage roll). Assuming you can keep your characters alive into turn two, Piett can turn four dice (with Megablaster Troopers) either to or as needed (obviously if you hit a 2 you'd just leave that be).

I'm not sure this is better than other Megablaster Troopers decks that consistently get the die out quickly, but I think this deck is a blast to play and I highly recommend it if your goal is to play as many First Order Stormtrooper dice as possible with a minimal amount of frustration.

Why two dice Piett and one dice Phasma instead of 1 dice Piett and 2 dice Phasma - what is your thinking on that?

Mostly I wanted to complicate the gameplan a little for my opponent. Elite Phasma is the obvious target when you setup with the 2/1 split, and you probably lose when she dies. Splitting the starting dice this way makes your opponent think about who they want to kill first, because Piett’s die and ability are actually pretty good for damage later in a game (two 2 indirect sides could be a lot worse).

I’ve made some changes to this list since I posted it, but I did manage to go 4-0 in a 13 player event with a build similar to this one. One change I would not make is flipping from the 1-2 to a 2-1 configuration. That part worked pretty well.
