This is just my take on the Hera deck, nothing ground breaking...
First I like Ezra over Rookie Pilot, really you can go with either one, I personally just like Ezra's special better than the Rookie plus I guess he gives you more life out of Electroshock. I also like T-47 Airspeeder over Lead by Example. I have had each character targeted first in games, so I don't like to use any upgrades when the characters are so squishy. I also like Ghost over Black One, yes Ghost has a 3for1 but it also has no blanks for Reckless Reentry, a flexible special, and all the 2s work well with C-3PO (but I do go back and forth on this).
You REALLY want to see Quadjumper or Recycle in your opening hand. This is how you get the most out of Hera in a hurry. If its your battlefield (and I use this battlefield specifically for the first turn 1 drop Airspeeder or 2 drop Y-wing) you want something like; play Airspeeder for 1, roll in Hera, if you get the special great if not there's Maz, resolve Hera special to play Falcon/U-Wing, roll in and resolve the Falcon/U-Wing dice, Recycle the Falcon/U-Wing for 5 money and play a Falcon/U-Wing/Ghost. If you can do something similar the following turn its ok if Hera goes down quick, use Maz/Reckless/Strategic to get the most out of your ship dice that they can't take away by killing her.
The deck is tons of fun to play and with the new errata may even be more competitive than it was. But don't be fooled it is a solid deck, having 3-4 permanent ships out on turn 2 happens very consistently (at least in the 12+ games I've played).

I like Rally Aid and maybe add in Z-95 Headhunter to give more opportunity for free ships, but with Reckless Reentry and Strategic Planning I want the bigger ships to hit and stick on the board, and I have found Recycle to work better with that plan. If the game slows down with the new errata I could see Rally Aid being a better choice, but I originally built this deck to keep up with the FN, etc. decks, so hard and fast was the name of the game. |
I would find a way to fit in Flank. Otherwise, I agree with your choices. I have had a lot of success with Rally Aid, as well. Honor Guard doesn't seem as good when you aren't on Docking Bay. It becomes relevant when you are done to your final character.
