I think my kind of scum would be a great card in this deck.

It was. It got cut largely because it relies on the resources of others to be effective.

At least in my playgroup, the first action is usually to play something with the resources gained in the upkeep, and it takes at least two actions for MKoS to work (roll in, resolve ). Given that it’s fairly easy to get to 15+ in the deck as is, the one or two I’d get are less valuable than throwing towards Unkar Plutt - Junk Dealer - which also causes discard.
