The idea here is to abuse the shield-pinging of Qui-Gon Jinn - Ataru Master. Mulligan priority is (1) Diplomatic Immunity (2) Maz's Vault (3) Defensive Teaching I have had great fun locally with this deck; certainly not Tier-1, but I'm more about finding moderate success with a deck of my own design.
It is SO rewarding for a turn to go like this (and I've done it frequently): -have 1 or 2 Defensive Teaching on table -activate Maz Kanata - Pirate Queen with Diplomatic Immunity attached -Maz Kanata - Pirate Queen likely rolls a focus die. Use her ability to resolve 2 dice, focusing the Diplomatic Immunity to the 4-shields side, throw them on Qui-Gon Jinn - Ataru Master -Activate Qui-Gon; resolve one of his sides with Ataru Strike; next action hit opponent with Riposte. -Conceal your excitement by twisting your mustache!!!
In all seriousness, I would love some feedback. I like to include cards I own, and I have basically all of Destiny, so I've included the Ancient Lightsaber for healing, as well as Lone Operative. Surprisingly, I don't really have resource issues; there have been more than a few games where I've been able to get Diplomatic Immunity onto Maz first turn. I know the natural suggestion would be Second Chance, but I find the shields are plentiful that I can keep Maz Kanata - Pirate Queen protected for 1-3 turns (if I'm lucky). If she doesn't have Diplomatic Immunity attached, then her dice are always a good target for Caution. Would love to hear what ya'll think!
