Disclaimer: This deck is completely untested and janky as hell. Sleeve up at your own risk!

So, basically this deck is all about building up to a huge combo turn where you try to push out anywhere from 27-38 damage in one turn. Here is the ideal setup you are working towards having somewhere midgame...

Rey with Rey's Lightsaber and Master of the Council. K-2SO with Makashi Training.

  1. Roll out Rey, do damage.
  2. Leadership K-2SO, ready Rey.
  3. Roll out Rey again, do more damage.
  4. Noble Sacrifice Rey, redeploy her lightsaber and Master of the Council (using Funeral Pyre) to K-2SO, triggering his ability. Ready K-2SO.
  5. Roll out K-2SO, deal more damage.
  6. Use Master of the Council special to ready K-2SO again.
  7. Roll out K-2SO, deal even more damage.

Now, what I've just described to you is a perfect scenario requiring 3 specific upgrades and 1 support out (which is a one of), two cards in hand and at least 3 resources in your pool. So, it's definitely a wombo combo to be sure.

Fortunately, the deck isn't complete garbage the rest of the time. You still have decent upgrades and removal, and some nice cheap power cards like Close Quarters Assault and Synchronicity. You can do pieces of the combo separately if you don't have everything together at once. Leadership still works great without the combo, Noble Sacrifice can still give you an extra activation and Funeral Pyre can still redeploy Master of the Council when Rey gets killed by an opponent as opposed to sacrificing her.

Mostly this just sounded like a super fun deck and an excuse to use my one of K-2SO I got from my box.

Edit: I built this out of cards I own, so it could definitely be improved upon. Swapping out the Lightsaber for Ancient Lightsaber is a no brainer. I'm also not sure that the Vibroknives are completely necessary and would probably remove them for another Master of the Council and second Funeral Pyre to make the main strategy more consistent.

Ancient Lightsaber instead of Lightsaber. Has more damage sides and will heal if you need it. Lightsaber Pull will always get it back. It may not have redeploy, which is important for your strategy, but you can chunk it to play Master of the Council (which you need one more of to have your strategy work, too.). You also need one more Funeral Pyre, too.

It looks fun!

@dough54321 I completely agree on Ancient Lightsaber. I built this deck out of cards I currently own so that's why it's not included. It fits perfectly in here though, for sure.

I was on the fence about a second Funeral Pyre since it doesn't really do anything on its own and I worry about Rey getting killed before I can get them both down. I'm not sure what to cut for it, tbh.

When you move Master of the Council wouldn't it become ready again? So you could get a 5th activation with using that on rey right?

WayneMcPain 138

@cjnj193 huh that's interesting. I'm not sure if moved upgrades keep their exhausted status or not. But even if you could do this, you would need 5 resources to pull it off...

dough54321 139

I believe it would.

I only make the assumption based off of One With The Force which doesn't even exaust but specifies it starts ready, definitely an interesting question! Also 2 more resources is certainly not feasible but hey extreme case senarios are still fun right?

Master of the council remains exhausted once moved. I tried this at a tourney with maz-mace using a bestow and the consensus is that an exhausted upgrade remains exhausted even after a move.

cjnj193 265

@Scirus Now was this a local tourney and that's what the community determined or did you guys find an actual ruling?

ScottExPA 256

What reason would you have for unexhausting the upgrade? There is nothing telling you to do so.

zmanfarlee 19

I like it but Noble sacrifice is no longer a playable card in any tourney :(

ScottExPA 256

You can just pass until the round ends to get around Coercion. The ruling about that from the co-designer Jeremy has been going around for a few days now.

I am confused, aren't you only allowed to play a single copy of Master of the Council because it's a unique?

J1mbo 1

No, you are allowed two unique cards in your deck/hand but you are only allowed to play one at any one time.

Anybody knows if Destino allows to avoid the +2 restriction on k2?

Whickok 1

Doesn’t the “blue char only” restriction prevent moving Master of the Council ?
