Had a few requests for this list, look for commentated matches vs. Rey/Chewbacca and two Poe/Maz from RandomNumberGaming (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC26WVCyLuSvfhNjuyxjqtFg) on Youtube in the near future.

Thanks for the decklist! I've been trying to figure out the best Han/Rey build before our Store Champ event...just having a heck of a time narrowing down those last few cards. There isn't much of a meta around here, but figure I'll be seeing Poe/Maz, Palp, and Vader/Raider. I'll be watching the YouTube link for commentated matches, but any play advice is appreciated. I (thankfully) have everything in your build except for the 2nd Bowcaster. Should I just sub in One With The Force? Thanks!

How do you pay for the 3 and 4 cost cards?

Conome 143

@Impulse411You could go back to OWTF as a replacement for Bowcaster, but my opinion is that One With The Force is not a good choice in this set, especially if you're expecting to see nothing but Tier 1 decks. Probably better to consider 1x Ammo Belt instead.

@Conome Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering if you would suggest the Ammo Belt loop or not. Maz's Goggles seems to be a pretty popular choice in new Han/Rey builds too, since it gives a focus effect like OWTF - just lower cost. The joys of narrowing a deck down to those 30 cards. :) My current build is fairly close to this one, just deciding between Han/Rey (which I like playing) and an Unkar/FN/Trooper build. There aren't a lot of games around my area, but trying to figure things out before the Store Champs in 1.5 weeks. Thanks!

@alliance

Both caracters have 2 sides of Ressources. Blaster, Vibro and Holdout as well.

Reklawyad 65

@Conome what decks did you face? I tried it against a Luke Rey deck and it seemed to fall fast. Vibroknife and getting two force speeds turn one helped, but vibroknife just cut through Han.

@Conomeliking the list a lot! However I'm questioning rey's staff and heroism. Could you justify using heroism over Loth-Cat and Mouse , Negotiate, Guard or other removal? Also I'm wondering if using Maz's Goggles in order to secure more consistent damage isn't better than rey's staff? How do you feel about it? Lastly, have you tried using one copy of planned explosion? Thanks in advance for answers :)

@Reklawyad I had a first round bye, faced Rey/Chewie, Palp/Raider and five matches vs. Poe/Maz. Against decks with shield hate you're digging for Second Chance, or hating on the Vibro die.

@JedrzejOut of the three there Cat+Mouse is something I'd consider looking at. Guard has two dice in the entire deck it can target, and I don't consider Negotiate as being useful in this meta, as decks with strong character dice usually also have action cheating, so the chance of getting value out of the resource spent is low and should be spent elsewhere.

As for Rey's Staff, if Han is dead, I would rather have Staff+2x Vibro or triple guns over Goggles+whatever.

@Conome When playing the deck I sometimes felt as if it was lacking damae. Have you encountered the same problem? Presumably not as you won the tournament.. However what do you find to be biggest weaknesses of the deck? How to minimize them?

I played the deck tonight at a local tournament and went 3-1, winning against two ePoe/eMaz and eVader/eRaider and losing to eKylo/Deathtrooper/Stormtrooper. I also playtested the deck a bunch against Vader/Raider and the mirror match.

Couple thoughts on the build :

@alliance The deck generates a LOT of ressources, which is essential to the Second Chance plan and lets us play very good upgrades and still having removal up.

@Jedrzej @Conome I thought Heroism was awful and would probably be the only card I would take off. Between the use of the shields through Ripost and the fact that Rey is dying fast, you can't really afford to hurt Han for a removal. I think Loth-Cat might be the choice, but I would have to test it first.

Also, about the Rey's staff : people usually go for Rey first, and you always play out your Ambush upgrades first (Vibro being the better and Holdout being the second best), which means a lot of the time you get stuck with your Staff and use it to rerolls or discard it at the end of turn. If the opp is going after Han first, then, the Staff become really good with Vibroknife in the mid to late game to throw a tone of unblockable damages. I think it adds versatility to the gameplan that we wouldn't have much otherwise.

The deck is lacking a little bit of damage in the early turns, but once you get your DL-44 and/or your Bowcaster up and start playing Reversal, things tend to reverse quickly in your favor.
