This was the deck I piloted at the Santa Clara Game Kastle Store Championship to 4th place. I will first do a brief rundown of the decklist and then talk about the matches.

Deck: I love this deck because both Qui-Gon and Rey are threats. Some people go for Qui-Gon first and leave me with Rey's ability while others go for Rey first and leave me with Qui-Gon's consistacy. I don't mind either way.

My battlefield is Moisture Farm because it is a neutral battlefield that doesn't help my opponent all that much but gives me a much-needed resource when I claim it.

I've cut the number of heavy-hitting upgrades down to 8 because I needed more room in the deck for removal and I didn't have the resources or time to get them out. I also include Jedi Robes and Force Illusion for added health.

I've included quite a few removal cards in my deck so I can deal more damage than I take. Flank is mainly used for Palpatine but if I kill a character early it's good for every situation. I also have Synchronicityi and Riposte for surprise damage from hand.

The best thing about this deck, in my opinion, is the variety of damage. You can do damage from shields, melee, or hand and your opponent may or may not be able to defend against it.

Matches: My First game was against a Luke Skywalker/Rey deck. He didn't have much surprise damage and I was able to remove most of his dice. I killed Luke by the end of round 2 with by doing 3 damage with Riposte. From there it was an uphill battle for him. I think he killed my Rey by the end of turn 3. From there we were each doing 1 damage a turn and removing the rest of each-other's dice. When I finally got my Vibroknife I rolled 5 damage and he didn't have an answer.

First Game: 1-0

The second game was a blur. I don't remember what he was playing but it was hero blue also. The game was very quick and I don't think either of my characters fell before I won that one.

Second Game: 2-0

My third game was my first loss (he ended up taking second). He was playing FN/Bala/Royal Guard. I killed FN by the end of turn 2 and he had done almost no damage. He loaded up Bala after that and used the Guard to remove my black damage sides and make my modifiers useless. I think I had done 6 damage to the guard and 2 to Bala by the time he finished my last character.

Third Game: 2-1

My fourth game was against Kylo Ren/Baby Vader I got Vader to 1 health by the end of turn two and he finished off his own character to kill Qui-Gon. After that I was fighting with Rey's two dice and a single Rey's staff I had added. I took 7 damage on Rey and only did 6 to Kylo. He had the first action and he rolled in Kylo. He had enough to kill me and I didn't have any removal. I played Vibroknife on Rey and rolled 6 damage which was enough to kill his character.

Fourth Game: 3-1

By this point I was in 3rd place behind the guy I had lost two and a Poe/Maz. I was playing the Poe/Maz in my fifth and final game. I knew if I won I would get second but that it would be very difficult. Over the course of the game I did 10+ damage to Poe but only 7 got through the shields. I also shielded myself and removed most of his dice the whole game. He told me it was the longest any of his opponents had lasted. It was a long game but I ended up losing after 6+ rounds of shields and removal.

Fifth Game: 3-2

Because the two people I lost too got 1 and second and my wins were also against high ranking participants, I took fourth by SOS. In the future I would consider replacing Caution because I don't use it very frequently but its made the distance in some matches against Poe/Maz in the past. I would also probably remove Jedi Robes because I only ever play them turn 1.

P.S. No, shields are not useless in this game thanks to Vibroknife. If I'm playing against a Poe/maz, Papatine, or other ranged deck than they block damage like they are supposed too. If I'm playing against a deck with Vibroknife, I use Riposte to do damage.

Thanks for reading! Criticisms and comments welcome!

As the Poe/Maz player in that tournament I can say if you are thinking of removing Caution replace it with another Guard and Flank does work even in a 2 character deck these days. Guard does work when your modifiers get unanchored by removal. You played a tight game. I'm glad you took home a playmat.

Yeah I think Guard really works better because outright removal is better than protection (remove their black damage sides and render thier modifiers useless). Ive been playing Flank for matches against Palp and Poe/Maz because they will almost always roll Poe as their first action. Thanks man I appreciate it!
