Here is a brief overview of what I think is the best strategy for this team.

Starting Hand: Vibroknife or Gaffi Stick are very necessary for the first hand. You also need to get some control cards like Electroshock or He Doesn't Like You.

How to Use: Load up Darth Vader - Sith Lord with cards and put a few on Tusken Raider. Don't put all the cards on Darth Vader - Sith Lord because if he dies you have no chance. Add some cards like Lightsaber Pike and Vibroknucklers.

Here's a brief overview of all the cards on this team and how to use.

Fast Hands: Try to get on Darth Vader - Sith Lord close to the beginning of the game but you might have to replace it with something else later on.

Gaffi Stick: Very good card to put onto Tusken Raider or Darth Vader - Sith Lord early on but it may have to be replaced but Lightsaber Pike.

Lightsaber Pike: Very nice card that you want to replace a card for this so you can save some , unless you have 4 or 5.

Vibroknife: Amazing in this team! Try to get it out as soon as possible. Best to get it out first turn.

Vibroknucklers: This is an ok card on this team unless you have a bunch of . After getting this card out try saving some just for this.

Anger: Well, there's always at least on time in a game where you roll two , so why not take adavantage of it. It's a control card and an aggro card.

Bait and Switch: I love this card, there's always a time where you roll a but you don't need one or would rather something else. Also, it's an ambush. It's a aggro card.

Cheat: This is a bad card to get in the first few rounds because of its ability. Handy card later in the game though. You get Force Strike or Bait and Switch back out again.

Electroshock: This is a great card on this team because you can remove most including sides. Also, unlike a few cards on this team, you can remove without hate having to have your own in the pool. This is a control card.

Force Strike: This is a very good card for this team. If you roll a bad result on Darth Vader - Sith Lord, you can turn it to 3. I only have one on this team because I don't have two of them. This is a aggro card.

He Doesn't Like You: This is a good card for this team. It's only good though if you have at least one in the pool. This is a control card.

Manipulate: This is a very similar card to He Doesn't Like You but it can sometimes be better, and sometimes worse. This is a control card.

One-Quarter Portion: This is a good card because you can remove any . Also, unlike a few cards on this team, you can remove without hate having to have your own in the pool. This is a control card.

Rise Again: This is a good card to heal up Darth Vader - Sith Lord and get an upgrade onto him for free.

Unpredictable: This is an ok card that lets you reroll any and also has ambush. Also, unlike a few cards on this team, you can remove without hate having to have your own in the pool.

Use The Force: This is a nice card that lets you either change a from the opponent, or, change one of your . This is a control and aggro card.

I spent a long time on this so thanks for spending the time reading it.

Why no force speed?

Andfritz30 1532

First of all, I don't have it. Second of all, it doesn't really need it in my opinion.

DreadFool 1

I have been doing very well with a slightly unconventional Vader Raider, which shares some similarities with your deck. In particular, I also avoid Sith Holocron and force powers to focus on efficient melee upgrades. But the upgrades I use are quite different to the ones you have selected.

Vibroknife is a no brainer, but instead of Gaffi Stick, Lightsaber Pike and Vibroknucklers I have Force Training, Makashi Training and Kylo Ren's Lightsaber. Force Training was added because it essentially has two resource sides and I occasionally found myself needing a resource. Kylo Ren's Lightsaber is still incredibly destructive if you get it into play, although I frequently find that I don't get it out and win comfortably at any rate.

I had originally intended to use Fast Hands, but ended up switching to Force Speed. This choice opens me up briefly to a bit of manipulation, but it also works better with the modified sides on my upgrades. It also essentially turns Use The Force into another Force Strike (of which I'd definitely have two copies of no matter what else is in any Vader-focused deck).

Like yours, my event suite is a mix of control and damage enablers, although mine is more aggro with Lightsaber Throw and one copy of No Mercy, as well as Backup Muscle as my only support. I originally had Rise Again in my list, but I honestly never had money for it, so I cut it a fair while ago.

The final significant difference is Moisture Farm - Tatooine as my battlefield ... as I've said repeatedly, resources can be tight.

Anyway, I wish you continued good luck with your build.

@DreadFool you make a very good point, I may have to try some of that. Thanks.

Im going to definetly have to try this deck out. I've played in many tournaments but and I think this is probably one of the best Vader Raider teams out there. I like how you have an equal amount of control and aggressive cards.

Andfritz30 1532

@Zachjohn Thanks for the complement. You should try it out, I really like it.

Carlm 1

I would add Sith Holocron.

Andfritz30 1532

@Carlm I don't have any blue abilities in this deck so it's useless. Thanks though

Foz 1024

@DreadFool Personally I think Lure of Power completes the list a bit better than Force Training. You can use the modified sides to augment resources or whatever you happen to need at the moment. I feel like most of your comments are solid, though.

I like Fast Hands in this deck for one particular reason - it helps make use of Vader's . Landing a 2 with Fast Hands just crushes your opponent's turn. Force Speed doesn't do that.

Andfritz30 1532

@Foz That is so true! Especially if you go first.

DreadFool 1

@Foz I rate the focus side on Force Training and find the extra blank on Lure of Power unappealing, but you make a valid point. Similarly, I see the benefits of Fast Hands (Fast Hands on Jabba the Hutt - The Great and Mighty is just about my favourite thing to do in this game), but I really like the feel of using Use The Force as third and fourth copies of Force Strike. Even rerolling and potentially resolving damage uninterrupted by die manipulation is great. In all honesty, I'm frequently looking to reroll or use Force Strike (sometimes after using Manipulate) on the 2 disrupt side. I think it's a 'season to taste' thing, but I haven't regretted Force Speed at this stage.

I edited this deck a little.

I Added in:

Makashi Training

Maz's Castle - Takodana

Lightsaber Throw x2

I Took out:

Echo Base - Hoth

Rise Again

Anger x2

Does anybody think this is better or worse?

J1mbo 1

I personally don't like using any battlefield that will benefit my opponent as much as it would benefit me. With that in mind I'd use Secluded beach for protection against ranged decks.

J1mbo 1

That said, Maz's castle could be protection from mill!

Andfritz30 1532

@J1mbo I agree with that (which is why I used Echo Base - Hoth because of my Vibroknifes) but Maz's Castle - Takodana helps me get rid of my whole hand Instead of discarding it.

Hartmanator 28

I would try to either replace the vibroknucklers or force pike with Lightsaber for the redeploy ability.

Andfritz30 1532

@Hartmanator I like how Vibroknucklers can he increased with a and I think Lightsaber Pike has better sides that Lightsaber. But you are right about the redeploy so I might add one Lightsaber and take out one Lightsaber Pike.

Thanks for the input.

Andfritz30 1532

So I eddited this a little more. I tried playing with a Force Speed and realized with Fast Hands, it's very powerful. So I wanted to add a Force Speed. I was thinking about taking out a Gaffi Stick. I think this would be better.

I would add:

Force Speed

I would take out:

Gaffi Stick

Does anybody think this would work pretty well?

Thsd 1

If you have any force speed, probably use two

JohnGobeilSKB 614

@Andfritz30Secluded Beach is a great include in Vader Raider, as you have very very few sides showing ranged damage. I'd suggest you check that one out.

J1mbo 1

This deck has only tuskens 1 rngd dmg which was why i suggest secluded beach. its another potential mitigation against Palp, unkar et al, nines, red hero and jango.

Andfritz30 1532

@J1mbo @Wigg I agree with both of you but I really like Maz's Castle - Takodana to help get out some of those good cards like Vibroknife.

Crw 1

I would add two Force Speeds to use them with Fast Hands. You could replace Cheat for them.

Andfritz30 1532

@Crw I think I might try that. Thanks

Foz 1024

I also feel like you can do better than One-Quarter Portion. Isolation is the obvious choice. Feel Your Anger or Doubt could also be better. Several people mentioned resources can be tight - that's a feature of the game overall, nearly any deck could use more resources. That makes the drawback on One-Quarter Portion a terrible one; one resource can be a really big deal.
